The Werribee River is on the flood watch list for dozens of the states waterways.
An advice alert has been issued for what emergency services expect will be widespread minor flooding due to rainfall over Sunday and Monday.
Over coming days sodden catchments across the state are predicted to receive flows from falls of between 25-60mm, and isolated totals of between 60- 80mm in some areas.
